HISTORY

It’s in the heart of the village of Auteuil, a neighbourhood well-known for its writers, for its lifestyle and its architecture, that the Confiseur d’Auteuil opened its doors to propose all kinds of delicacies to the neighbouring inhabitants in 1913. Initially a fine grocer, little by little the shop became a veritable Confectioner’s offering an extensive choice of sweets and delicacies. Generations of children have fantasized in front of the numerous jars of candy, the shop’s emblem. 

In 1973, Merienne couple took over the Confiseur d’Auteuil, otherwise known under the SERVANT brand. With audacity and panache, the talented chocolate-maker produced all kinds of innovative chocolate bonbons with inspired flavours, both exquisite and unexpected.

Unsurprisingly, Dominique Autret, brought up in the world of chocolate, followed her parents’ footsteps and took over the Confectioner’s in 1999. Over time, SERVANT has maintained the values of the artisan chocolate-makers, the quality of their chocolates, the extensive choice of sweets as well as the continued desire to seek out new flavours.
Sébastien Autret, who represents the third generation in this family-based operation, continues to follow with passion and talent his grandfather Maurice Merienne’s advice and recipes. 

Servant’s story is tied to a family’s shared desire to conserve traditional know-how and the quality of their products as well as a respect for tradition, for the pleasure of epicureans and bonbon-lovers alike.
